Can anyone reccomend a good pair of headphones for a bass-freak?

I have an iPod Nano which i use to listen mostly to Hip Hop (YoungBloodZ, Ludacris, David Banner, The Game, Snoop Dogg) and R&B (Bobby Valentino, Ne-Yo, Cassie, Rihanna), with a bit of Dance music thrown in every now and then (Alex K, Styles and Breeze). I wanna get some headphones with rich, clear bass because I really despise the distorted jarring that emanates when you listen to bass-heavy music with the standard headphones (especially with the equaliser on R&B or Dance). But, purchasing an iPod has kinda dented my bank balance….so is there anything I can buy for about £20 ($40/35Eu) that will do the job?

The Sony in ear ones are fantastic – not cheap though. Get the ones with the rubber ‘buds’ not the foam though…waaaay better.

As a side note, no in-ear will every be able to give a really excellent bass response as the driver in just too small in size. Spend to your limit – headphones normally are "you get what you pay for".

For listening in the home…or if you’re not bothered about being subtle. Grado make some seriously nice kit…have a pair of ‘SR80′s.

Senheiser is a excellent make but I find them a small too ‘bassey’ – but are more comfortable to wear.

ps. Grado are ‘open back’, most sennies are closed back. It a personal preference thing. Closed helps prevent sound leakage and not annoy those around you with a slight loss of driver movement, but better bass – open allows marginally better driver movement for added mid & treble clarity – but everybody else gets to hear your tunes too…more for the audiophiles!

surround sound headphones?

which has the best clean crisp sound, surround sound headphones or the surround sound speakers like a home theatre??
did you even read the Q sea biskit

A pair of surround headphones gives you a surround effect from two speakers, not six or eight. So that means that there is only two sound sources in a pair of headphones. In a home theater, there is more than two sound sources (up to six or eight) which is closer to real life.

I hope I helped.

If you use headphones or earbuds to listen to music then how harmful is that to your hearing?

Please keep in mind that I do not listen to music at the extra loud levels that some do. I listen at what I would consider a very normal level.

It isn’t exactly harmful. If you do this for about 50 years you can probably encounter minor hearing loss if it at a normal level.

How do I plug my headphones into my TV and Computer ?

I have to go over to TV and take out headphone jack every time I want to plug in to my PC audio and listen to internet radio. Is there an adapter or cord to listen to both audio output sources and switch between both as and when required ??

Pittsburgh Protection: Stay Safe!

The crime statistics for Pittsburgh are staggering. The city has a higher rate than the state in nearly all types of crime: murder, burglary, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, arson, car theft, grand larceny, etc. The excellent news is that the citizens of Pittsburgh are not giving up their right to a free and pleased life. Most have just accepted the fact that there is more to watch out for here at home and have become very street smart as they travel around town. As you travel through Pittsburgh, here are some tips to help you stay safe:1. Ditch the headphones. Sure listening to music can make a long walk more enjoyable; especially if you are appreciate some background sound like most Pittsburgh residents. While the music is nice, it takes away one of your senses and—depending on the volume of your music—could drown out the sound of approaching footsteps or car. Another reason to keep the headphones off is that, if you are like most people, music is distracting. It is simple to get caught up in the lyrics of a song or to start singing along in your head and forget to pay attention to your surroundings. Criminals depend on the distracted and are more likely to jump you if you look like you aren’t paying attention. 2. Carry as small as possible with you. Avoid carrying a lot of bags with you when you leave the house. The more bags you have the wealthier you look! The wealthier you look the more likely you are to be targeted for crimes like theft or assault. What’s more, the more bags you carry, the harder it is to keep a hold of all of them. Someone could run by and easily snag one of your bags and run off with it. By the time you gather up the rest of your things the thief will be long gone. To that end, carry your vital things like your wallet/ID and keys in your front pockets. It is harder to pick front pockets than back pockets. 3. Travel in well lit areas of Pittsburgh with lots of escape routes. You want to be able to ditch a threat without having to resort to ducking down a dark alley. Stick to streets that have people walking around and avoid places that look deserted. If something looks dodgy, hail a cab to a safer neighborhood. For that matter, if you have to call someone to come pick you up, have them get you at a location that will allow you to wait inside. People who are standing around outside are more likely to be attacked. It is unlikely that a criminal will follow you into one of Pittsburgh’s shops, restaurants or office buildings. When it comes to staying safe in Pittsburgh there is no such thing as being too paranoid. It is always better to err on the side of caution than it is to walk into a potentially perilous situation and hope that nothing goes incorrect.
