I have a PSP which I use to listen to music, and high quality headphones. Will my sound quality be different than, say, an Ipods sound, because I’m plugging them into a PSP? Or won’t it matter? I’ve always wondered this. Does the sound that headphones produce depend on what they are plugged into? (Ipod/Zune/Computer Speakers/TV/Etc.) Thanks

There are many things that can effect the quality of what you are listening too and indeed what device your headphones are plugged into is one of them. The DAC (digital to analogue converter) inside audio devices vary in quality. A better DAC will result in better sound. But, there are many other things that can affect this as well such as the compression level of the music file. Overall, it is unlikely that sound quality will change from device to device enough for you to notice. But, different equalizer settings will be.
