I’ve got a pair of these. I’m a heavy PC user, games, movies, music and these headphones are truely stunning for all of these. If you’re a serious gamer/movie or music lover, and are sick of average/low quality sound then this might be for you. The price tag is huge but if you use are to use them virtually everyday it’s worth spending the money.
You didn’t deduct the cost of the amplifier in your calculations. The AK-R8 replaces the in line amplifier of the HPA2 with the SRM. The amplifier costs $50 and the SRM is $80, hence the $30 difference between an HPA2 and AK-R8.

Will these work on a Windows 7 operating system?
We’ll be posting the Win7 drivers on our downloads support site in a couple of weeks.
