decent sound proof headphones that are at a okay price and not very expensive

I have a hearing impairment. IPod need help adding sound, just a bit to delight in my music! Yes, I realize the irony of my question. . . Maybe some of my hearing came too quick for the headphones. . . Other factors in the management of their hearing loss.
I do not want huge bulky things my head in public. I want a rich sound and well, preferably in the ear style (I like the bass it offers). I'm not even sure they are doing and will be completed with in-ear headphones. I have checked and done searches, but alls not want to find is a species of large size. Please help. . . All proposals must be highly appreciated.

I like my friend chew proof headphones, headsets, or even on your iPod, due to the fact that his roommate's cat likes to chew on each pair that has bought so far. If I find that I do, to find the cable to cover what can not be chewed, could not work as well. Any thoughts would be fantastic.
