Sony’s MDR-NC300D is the first in ear headphone that uses noise cancellation to enhance a PSP, PlayStation, or Xbox gamer’s sound experience and drastically cuts our noise. The advanced artificial intelligent noise canceling system monitors and analyzes ambient noise around you. It then uses this to select the best anti noise profile to block out the unwanted noise. It is all automatic with no need to select different noise cancellation modes while you are listening. As a result this produces clear and detailed music with an impressive 96% reduction in noise.

Not only do the ear phones have brilliant noise cancellation but they also have terrific hi-fi performance sound that is exclusive to Sony. The Master Digital Amplifier commands a sound stage with any type of music input. This in turn produces sounds that are clear and extremely detailed. There are three sound modes to choose from which are movie, base, and normal. Each fine tune the frequency to suite your personal listening preference. It is further enhanced by smooth sounds and powerful bass. The treble sounds were nice, clean, and crisp.

They are vertical in ear design headphones that are really very comfortable for long listening sessions. Plus they are powered by a triple A battery that has 20 hours of power. The Sony MDR-NC300D has not been released. Expected released date is for October 2009. So far no price has been provided. These are a fantastic pair of headphones to use on the PSP gaming system which Sony also manufactures.

Tritton AX 51 Pro 5.1 Headset for PC’s – Revised Review

Hopefully this will help in your choice to buy a set of surround headphones. The Tritton’s are a small expensive- this set is $90. The TRITTON AXPro Right 5.1 are $180 and includes an external Dolby module. If you all ready have a Dolby 5.1 sound card, then you don’t need the module. The headset is identical to the more expensive version and can really be plugged into the AXPro’s module as a second set.

The problem with the headset is the surround is terrible. The front and read speakers are so close, your ears can’t tell the difference. You may as be wearing stereo headphones.

To help you visualize this problem, it is like taking your surround speakers, and placing the front and rear channels right next to each other instead of spacing them in front and behind you.

I have tested these headphones in COD 5, COD 4, Killzone 2. The surround sound works perfectly with all of them. You can hear people sneaking up on you clearly, this has improved my gaming alot!!
